To All,

We are saddened by the loss of Eddie Glorioso.

If you ever stepped foot in Glorioso’s Italian Market, 1011 E. Brady St., you likely met Eddie Glorioso, who along with his brothers Joe and Teddy started Glorioso Brothers Italian Market in 1946.

You might say that Eddie, who seemed to know everyone that walked in the door, was the family PR man, even at the age of 92 when he retired. His contagious smile, engaging conversation and always upbeat personality was a joy to all that will be sadly missed. Over the years Eddie, became known as “Uncle Eddie” to an extended family of friends and customers.

Eddie was born in Milwaukee’s Third Ward and as a young man worked alongside his father, an Italian immigrant who was a fruit peddler, at Gagliano Produce.

In 1946, while working as a welder building tanks at the Heil Corporation, Eddie saw the vacant space on Brady Street and along with his brothers opened Glorioso Brothers  store with a loan secured by his father from the Gagliano family.

For eight decades Eddie was involved in Milwaukee’s Italian community and his participation and contributions are many. We will all miss you but never forget how you positively influenced our lives.

We Love you “Uncle Eddie”
