Nino Negrini Quadrio Valtellina Superiore 2013
Nino Negri Quadrio is sourced from one of the highest estate vineyards within the Valtellina Superiore DOCG and all of Italy. These south facing hillside vineyards sit at elevations above 1,100 feet and consist of soils of gravel, loose sand and silt. These factors provide for an extremely dangerous and time consuming harvest. Here is a fascinating read on how this producer uses helicopters to assist in the harvest.

Winemaker’s Notes
With a dark garnet-red color, the wine shows distinctive, fine aromas of small fruits, raspberry preserves, roses and violets, with an herbal note. In the mouth, the wine has full, lively tart fruit flavors, elegant tannins and a lingering aftertaste, with traces of prunes and toasty oak.

Gran Passione Falanghina 2016
Winemaker’s Notes
100% Falanghina – It is believed that Falanghina is the grape variety behind Falernian, the most famous wine of Roman antiquity. There has been a renaissance in Falanghina since the turn of the century and a strong movement to restore the reputation of this once venerated grape.
Gran Passione Fallanghina exhibits overt varietal aromas of white flowers, tree fruit, along with citrus The medium body and creamy texture is surprising for such an aromatic variety. Additional complexities such as a chalky minerality are found on the crisp, clean palate.
