The perfect cocktail for April
Engagingly bitter, slightly sweet, and above all, tall and cold, the Americano suits the season. Born 1860 in Milan, the Americano was first called the Milano-Torino. Aptly named after the home of each of the famous ingredients, Campari Bitter and Cocchi Torino Vermouth.
The Americano
- 1 1/2 ounces Campari
- 1 1/2 ounces Cocchi Vermouth di Turino
- 3 ounces soda water
- Garnish: lemon twist or orange slice
Pour the Campari and vermouth into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice cubes.
Top with soda.
Garnish with a lemon twist or orange slice.
You can find Campari ($34.99) and Cocchi Vermouth di Torino (Sale $19.99) at Glorioso’s Italian Market.
